Barry C Lynn

Executive Director of the Open Markets Institute

Barry C Lynn is the Executive Director of the Open Markets Institute. Over the last two decades, Mr Lynn pioneered the understanding of how the monopolies of the 21st century threaten our democracy, liberties, prosperity, and security. Mr Lynn’s warnings on structural flaws in international industrial systems predicted today’s supply chain crises and the breakdown of globalisation, whereas his work has influenced officials in the US, Europe, and Asia. In addition, Mr Lynn’s efforts to update antimonopoly law and thinking for the digital era have been fully embraced by the Biden Administration and other policymakers around the world. Mr Lynn is author of three books: End of the Line (2005), Cornered (2010), and Liberty from All Masters (2020). Mr Lynn’s thinking has been profiled in the New York Times, New Yorker, Washington Post, Economist, and Wall Street Journal. Earlier, Mr Lynn was Executive Editor of Global Business Magazine and a correspondent in South America.
