Minister Delegate for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France
Benjamin Haddad is the Minister Delegate for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France. Prior to assuming this role, he was a Member of Parliament of Paris (14th constituency), where he was a Member of the Foreign Affairs Commission and the European Affairs Commission and alsoa spokesman coordinator for the National Assembly's Renaissance group. In this capacity, MrHaddad prepared the bill on the “Prevention of the dissemination of terrorist content online.” Having graduated from Sciences Po Paris and HEC, MrHaddad is an expert in international relations. He has also taught international relations at Sciences Po. He worked for seven years in think tanks in Washington, notably as Director of the Atlantic Council's Europe Center (2019-22).From 2014 to 2018, he was a Fellow at Hudson Institute in Washington, DC. MrHaddadwas the first Union for a Popular Movement National Secretary (2011-14).MrHaddadwrote Paradis Perdu: l'Amérique de Trump et la fin des illusions européennes (Grasset, 2019), a plea for European sovereignty and strategic autonomy in the face of new geopolitical threats and American withdrawal, which won Prix l'Express-BFM 2019 for best essay 2019.
