Benjamin Haddad has been a Member of Parliament of Paris since June 2022. He is a Spokesperson for the Renaissance group at the Parliament and a Member of the Law Committee and the European Affairs Committee. In this capacity, Mr Haddad prepared the bill on the “Prevention of the dissemination of terrorist content online.” Having graduated from Sciences Po Paris and HEC, Mr Haddad is an expert in international relations. He has also taught international relations at Sciences Po. From 2014 to 2018, he was a Fellow at Hudson Institute in Washington, DC. In 2019, he was appointed Senior Director of the Europe Centre at the Atlantic Council. In his work, he advocated for European strategic autonomy, transatlantic dialogue on China, and Russia, the digital transition, and a robust EU response to geopolitical challenges. In his book, Le paradis perdu: L’Amérique de Trump et la fin des illusions européennes (2019), Mr Haddad analyses the historical and geopolitical forces that determined the transition from a long period of liberal optimism to an era of retrenchment in the US and Europe.
