Katia Margolis is an artist, writer, professor, and public intellectual. Since 2004, she has lived and worked in Venice, where she has collaborated with Ca’ Foscari University, the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Venezia, the Venice Biennale, and other institutions and taught at the ScuolaInternazionale di Grafica. She published numerous books, articles, essays, and translations of prose and poetry. Her visual artwork is regularly exhibited and represented in collections throughout Europe and the US. Ms Margolis is also a political activist and popular blogger, as well as a freelance journalist writing for Radio Liberty and vigorously opposing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She graduated with a degree in linguistics from the Russian State University for the Humanities and later studied at the University of Padova (Italy) and the University of Melbourne (Australia), where she also taught and was an Australian Government Doctoral Fellow.
