Laure Mandeville is a senior reporter with the French newspaper le Figaro, where she covers European and American affairs. She is in charge of a weekly page “Debates around the world.” Ms Mandeville was a US bureau chief for Le Figaro in Washington, DC, from 2008 to 2016, covering the US politics, US foreign policy, and American society. She joined the foreign desk of Le Figaro in 1989 to cover the end of communism and spent twenty years covering the post-Soviet world (Eastern Europe, Russia, Baltic countries, Caucasus, Ukraine, and Central Asia). She was Russia bureau chief in Moscow from 1997 to 2000. She also covered Islam in Europe from 2000 to 2008. Ms Mandeville was visiting scholar at Harvard University, as a Fulbright and Arthur Sachs fellow. She is the author of Qui est vraiment Donald Trump (Les Equateurs, 2026).
