Energy is expensive, but it costs less than freedom. During Russia’s war against Ukraine, EU imports of Russian fossil fuels have continued, though not at the same levels as before. Countries like India claim to be neutral in the war but are, through their actions, supporting Moscow by buying and reselling Russian oil and gas. Have we been funding Russia’s war against Ukraine? Is there a long-term solution for affordable energy in Europe without dependence on Russia or other malignant actors? Is there a more efficient way to cut back Russia’s oil and gas revenue? Is there an alternative to the oil price cap? And how well-oiled and ready is Russia’s war machine amidst the global uncertainty about trade and economic growth?
