Bart Hogeveen

Deputy Director for Cyber, Tech and Security at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute

Bart Hogeveen is Deputy Director (Policy) for the Cyber, Technology & Security programme at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) and ASPI’s Resident Representative in Europe. The Cyber, Technology and Security programme involves a team of researchers with unique skillsets analysing the cyber- and technology-enabled emerging security issues of our time, and the role of big, middle, and small powers in the Indo-Pacific. Mr Hogeveen is the originator of ASPI’s work on the implementation of international rules, norms, and standards in cyberspace. This involves close cooperation with ASEAN and other governments and participation in various Track 1 and Track 1.5 initiatives. His areas of expertise are national security and military cyber capabilities in the Indo-Pacific, practices of state-sponsored cyber and information activities, and efforts to promote regional cooperation, deterrence and accountability. Mr Hogeveen has been active in programming cyber capacity building assistance.
