Hakan Özoğlu

Professor of History and Director of Middle Eastern Studies University of Central Florida

Hakan Özoğlu is a professor of history and the Director of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Central Florida. His publications include Kurdish Notables and the Ottoman State: Evolving Identities Competing Loyalties and Shifting Boundaries and Caliphate to Secular State: Power Struggle in the Early Turkish Republic His publications appeared in four languages. His interviews and essays were published in many international media outlets including, New York Times, Orlando Sentinel, Chicago Tribune, WTTW PBS Chicago. He is the recipient of 2017-18 Fulbright Core Fellowship.
