Ilkka Kanerva

Member of Parliament of Finland

Honorary Minister Ilkka Kanerva is Finland’s longest standing Member of Parliament, having served in office since 1975. Kanerva has held several ministerial positions in the Finnish government, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister. He has been a member of both Foreign and Defence Committees several times and chaired the latter twice. He is President Emeritus of OSCE PA Assembly and is currently OSCE’s Special Representative on Mediation. Kanerva has extensive experience in foreign affairs and defence matters.
