Jerker Hellström heads the Asia and Middle East Programme at the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI). He is a specialist in East Asian security, with a focus on Chinese foreign and security policy. During 2014-2015 he served as Deputy Director at the Office for Strategic Analysis of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Prior to joining FOI in 2008, he worked as a correspondent with Reuters in China.
