Johann David Wadephul

Member of Bundestag, Deputy Chairman for Foreign Affairs and Defence Policy, CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group at the Council of Europe

Dr Johann David Wadephul has been a Member of the German Bundestag since the 17th electoral term (2009). Since 2018, he has served as the Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag responsible for foreign affairs and defence, in particular, the Interparliamentary Conference for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) at the Council of Europe. He is the highest-ranking foreign and security politician of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Parliament where he is a Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Defence Committee, and the Committee on European Union Affairs. Dr Johann David Wadephul is the Head of the German Parliamentary Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations with the States of the Southern Caucasus, and Chairman of the cross-sectoral Working Group on China.
