Ambassador for International Economic Affairs, Arctic Affairs, and Women, Peace and Security at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan
Ambassador Katsuhiko Takahashi is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for International Economic Affairs, Arctic Affairs, and Women, Peace and Security at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. He has extensive experience across the Middle East, multilateral diplomacy, crisis management, and international economic affairs. Over the course of his career, Ambassador Takahashi has held numerous key positions both in Tokyo and overseas, with a particular focus on the Middle East and African regions. His early assignments in the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau and the Economic Affairs Bureau were followed by postings to Japan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations and to the Embassies of Japan in Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, where he served multiple times as Deputy Chief of Mission.
