Keiichi Ichikawa 

Assistant Chief Cabinet Secretary and Deputy National Security Adviser 

Keiichi Ichikawa is the Assistant Chief Cabinet Secretary and Deputy National Security Adviser in the Cabinet Secretariat. Previously, he served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for over thirty years mainly in foreign policy coordination. Most recently, he served as the Deputy Minister for Foreign Policy, taking charge of the planning of basic and middle- or long-term foreign policy from wider points of view and the coordination of many other foreign policies. He also served as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Cabinet Secretary. Mr Ichikawa is a graduate of University of Tokyo and received an executive master’s in international relations from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
