Marcel de Vink

Director-General for Political Affairs at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Marcel de Vink has been the Director-General for Political Affairs at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) since 2022. He previously served as the Deputy Director-General for Political Affairs at the MFA (2020-22). Mr de Vink joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995 and was posted in Pretoria, Iraq (Political Advisor to the British Divisional Commander), Brussels (NL mission to EU), and New York (NL mission to UN). He also worked at the Security Policy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague. Mr de Vink then served as Private Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2006-10), the Head of the Political Department in Washington (2010-13), the Dutch Ambassador in Islamabad, Pakistan (2013-15), and as Director of the Western Hemisphere Department (2016-20).
