MargusTsahkna assumed office as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia in 2023. Having started his career in local politics in 2002, MrTsahkna was a member of the 11th, 12th (2007-15) and 13th (2017-19) Riigikogu and has held several ministerial positions: Minister of Defence (2016-17) and Minister of Social Protection (2015-16). Minister Tsahkna was head of the Pro Patria political party from 2015 to 2017, after which he left politics to work in the private sector in the field of war and disaster medicine. During hisyears in the private sector, MrTsahkna created the new political party E200, which successfully entered the Riigikogu after the general elections in March 2023. MrTsahkna hasstudied theology and religiousstudies, and international law.
