Michael Peel

European Diplomatic Correspondent of The Financial Times

Michael Peel first joined the Financial Times in 1997 and has done various jobs in London, as well as postings as Asia, West Africa and Middle East correspondent, where he covered the uprisings that swept the region. He is the author of "A Swamp Full of Dollars: Pipelines and Paramilitaries at Nigeria's Oil Frontier," which was shortlisted for The Guardian's first book award. He has written for various publications including Granta, New Republic, New Statesman and London Review of Books. From March 2005 until 2006, Peel was an Associate Fellow of Chatham House.
