Pål Jonson
Minister for Defence of the Kingdom of Sweden
Dr Pål Jonson is the current Minister for Defence of the Kingdom of Sweden, assuming office in 2022. He has been a member of the Riksdag since 2016. Dr Jonson boasts extensive experience in defence and security, having previously chaired Sweden's Parliamentary Committee on Defence, served as Secretary-General of the Swedish Atlantic Council, and worked as Communications Director of the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association. He holds a PhD in War Studies from King's College London and has served as a conscript coastal ranger within the Royal Swedish Navy.
