Taimar Peterkop

Director-General of the Information System Authority, Estonia

Taimar Peterkop is the Director-General of the Information System Authority (RIA). Previously, he served as an Undersecretary for Legal and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Defence in Estonia and was responsible for the development of communications technology and cyber defence. Formerly, Peterkop has worked in various other positions at the Ministry of Defence. He has been the Defence Counsellor at the Estonian Embassy in the United States of America, a national defence teacher, and a lecturer of international law. He has graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu and obtained a Master’s degree from the United States Army War College. He is a reserve officer.
