Thomas Bagger

Ambassador of Germany in Poland

Thomas Bagger serves as German Ambassador to Poland, a position he has held since July 2022. Having grown up in West Germany, Amb Bagger served in the army in 1984-86. He studied international relations in Munich, Paris, and Washington, DC. Amb Bagger joined the German Diplomatic Service in 1992 and served in Prague, Ankara and Washington, DC. He worked with foreign ministers Klaus Kinkel, Joschka Fischer, Guido Westerwelle, and Frank-Walter Steinmeier. From 2017 to 2022, he was foreign policy adviser to Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
