Yeongkyun Jang

Dr Yeongkyun Jang is a Senior Researcher at the Korea AI Safety Institute (K-AISI), where he specialises in AI national security policy and research, focusing on artificial intelligence and national security issues, including the proliferation of AI-related risks, the assessment of CBRN threats in the context of emerging AI capabilities, and the analysis of AI arms race dynamics and nuclear proliferation. His interdisciplinary expertise spanning machine learning-based analysis, computational social science, military strategy, and international politics provides a distinctive perspective for analysing and designing policy responses to the security and governance challenges posed by emerging technologies. His selected publications include Measuring the Network Power of States: The United States versus China (Korean Journal of Defense Analysis, 2023) and The Dynamics of the Global Arms Trade Network: States’ Stability and Instability (Defence and Peace Economics, 2023).
