Director of the Security and Intelligence Service of the Republic of Moldova
Alexandru Musteață was appointed Director of the Security and Intelligence Service by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in 2022. Previously, he has served as Anticorruption Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister and member of the Central Electoral Commission. From 2013 to 2020, he held various positions in the Soros-Moldova Foundation, including the position of Head of the Good Governance Department. He holds a master’s degree in European political science, awarded by the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium). In 2013, he graduated from the University of Academy of Science of Moldova with a master’s degree in political science, specialising in national security. He speaks Romanian, English, French, and Russian.
