David Cattler is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS). He previously served as Director of the US Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), where he led the protection of US defence and intelligence equities across industry, government, and allied partners.From 2019 to 2022, he served as NATO Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence and Security, responsible for alliance-wide intelligence policy, security, and coordination with national intelligence services. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in the US intelligence and national security community, including at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.His current work focuses on transatlantic security, intelligence cooperation, deterrence, and alliance adaptation in an era of strategic transition.
