Giorgi Gakharia

Former Prime Minister of Georgia

Giorgi Gakharia is the former Prime Minister of Georgia (2019-21). Following his resignation, he has been the chair of the newly established “For Georgia” political party. Prior to his appointment as the head of Government, Giorgi Gakharia was a minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia (2017-19), Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development (2016-17), Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Georgia, and Secretary of the Economic Council (2014-16). Before serving in public sector, he held senior positions in various private organizations. Giorgi Gakharia has an MBA and an MA in political science.
