Dr Iulian Chifu is the State Counsellor of the Prime Minister of Romania for foreign relations, security, and strategic affairs. He was the president of the Conflict Prevention and Early Warning Center Bucharest since 2014. In 2012-14, Dr Chifu was the Presidential Counsellor for strategic affairs and international security and Presidential Counsellor for strategic affairs, security and foreign policy in 2011-12 for the Romanian President Traian Băsescu. Since 2000, Dr Chifu has been an associate professor, specialised in conflict analysis, crisis decision-making and post/conflict reconstruction and teaching at the Department International Relations and European Integration at National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA) in Bucharest.
