Dr Jade McGlynn leads the Ukraine and Russia programme at the Centre for Statecraft and National Security at King’s College London (KCL). Her research since 2014 has focused on Russia’s war against Ukraine, particularly through the lenses of identity, propaganda, and memory. She is currently conducting in-depth research on Russian occupation policies and Ukrainian resistance in temporarily occupied territories. She is the author of numerous academic articles and two books: Russia’s War (2023) and Memory Makers: The Politics of the Past in Putin’s Russia (2023). A frequent contributor to international media, Dr McGlynn regularly consults governments and other entities in relation to Russia’s ongoing war on Ukraine. Dr McGlynn received her DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2020.
