Jerry Sam is the Executive Director at Penplusbytes, a civic-tech organisation based in Ghana. Jerry Sam is a trained journalist and a governance specialist with over a decade of experience in driving positive change through new media innovations and digital advocacy. Mr Sam has expertise in building the capacity of fellow journalists in using technology to enhance their work and also leveraging new digital tools to address complex civic challenges in areas such as democratic elections, economic justice, social accountability, local governance, climate change, media and information literacy, anti-corruption, and natural resource governance. His current research interest focuses on the intersection between AI, deepfakes, and democracy.
