Sergei Medvedev
Professor, Moscow Free University
Dr Sergei Medvedev is a historian, writer and journalist. Born in Moscow, he studied in Prague and New York City. He has held research positions and professorships in Rome, Helsinki and Munich, and from 2004 to 2020 he was Professor of Political Science at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. Since leaving Russia, he has been a professor at the Moscow Free University (an online project) and is currently a fellow at the Helsinki Research Collegium, as well as a programme host at Radio Liberty in Riga. His latest book is the award-winning Return of the Russian Leviathan (Polity, 2019).
