State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality

Tea Akhvlediani has served as the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality since August 2020. She is a career diplomat serving in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 22 years. Since 1997 she has twice held the position of director of the EU Integration Department, before and after her diplomatic mission to Brussels (2004-2008), where she served as the counsellor in the Georgian Mission to the EU, Embassy of Georgia to the Benelux Countries. In her capacity of EU Department Director, in 2010-2013 she was the executive secretary of the EU-Georgia negotiations on the Association Agreement. From 2014 to 2019 Tea Akhvlediani served as the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Estonia and from 2019 to 2020 as the Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs.
