Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies, Center European Policy Analysis
Lieutenant General (ret) Ben Hodges holds the Pershing chair in strategic studies at the Center for European Policy Analysis. He joined CEPA in February 2018 after retiring from the US Army after 38 years of Service. Hodges became commander of United States Army Europe in November 2014, holding that position for three years until retiring from the United States Army in January 2018. His operational assignments include two tours in Iraq, 2003-2006, and director of operations, RC South in Kandahar, Afghanistan, 2009-2010. His last two assignments were as COM NATO Allied Land Command, 2012-2014, and Commanding General, United States Army Europe, 2014 to 2017. Ben Hodges joined the team of non-resident fellows at the ICDS in January 2019.
