Christian Danielsson
State Secretary for EU Affairs at the Prime Minister´s Office Sweden
Christian Danielsson has been the State Secretary for EU Affairs since 18 October 2022. Prior to that, he was the Head of the European Commission´s Representation in Sweden. Mr Danielsson joined the European Commission in 1995 as a Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Anita Gradin. He held several positions in the Commission, including Deputy Head of Cabinet of Vice-President Verheugen and Director in DG Enlargement (2008-10). Mr Danielsson was Permanent Representative for Sweden before he became Deputy Secretary-General of the European Commission in 2011. In 2013, he became Director-General for Enlargement and from 2015 until September 2020, he worked as Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations. Before joining the Commission, Mr Danielsson worked for the Swedish diplomatic service. Mr Danielsson graduated in business administration and economics at the Stockholm School of Economics.
