Director of the Security and Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Croatia
Daniel Markić is the Director of the Croatian Security and Intelligence Agency. He began his professional career in the Special Operations Forces of the Croatian Army, followed by posts in the intelligence services and diplomacy. In the Security and Intelligence Agency, he headed operations, education, and international cooperation units until 2016, when he became its director. In 2020, he was appointed to a second term as director. During his tenure, Mr Markić has been placing great emphasis on the strengthening of international intelligence cooperation in countering contemporary transnational security challenges, both bilaterally and multilaterally, especially in the NATO and EU framework. He holds a master's degree in international and European law.
