Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia
From 2010-2015, Iztok Mirošič served as Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Italy, Malta, San Marino, Libya and Tunisia, and as Permanent Representative to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and World Food Programme. From 2004-2008 he was Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the International Maritime Organization. From 2008-2010, he was director general for European affairs and bilateral political relations and special coordinator for relations and border issues with the Republic of Croatia, and negotiator for the Arbitration Agreement for establishment of the border between Slovenia and Croatia at the Slovenian MFA. He received the honours of Knight of the Grand Cross of the Merit Order of the Italian Republic and a Commemorative Medal for participation in the War for Independent Slovenia, 1991. He is the author of several articles and studies on foreign policy and international relations.
