Mohamed Elbadri

Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt

Amb Dr Mohamed Elbadri is the Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs of Egypt and a member of the Egyptian National Security Council. He was also supervising the European Affairs department (until January 2024). Amb Dr Mohamed Elbadri was Assistant Minister for African Affairs until 2023. Previously, he was Ambassador to Beijing until 2022, Assistant Minister for Arab Affairs, and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States. He was Ambassador to Moscow and non-resident to Belarus, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan till 2017. Amb Dr Mohamed Elbadri served at the embassies in London, Brussels, and Ankara. He was the counsellor to the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations in New York. Amb Dr Mohamed Elbadri Elbadri was a professor of international relations & diplomatic history at the American University in Cairo (2002-13). He has published 5 books including Egyptian-European Confrontations 1827-1841, as well as Concealed Messages of Time: Religion, Revolution, and Politics across History.
