Sergei Medvedev
Professor at Charles University
Dr Sergei Medvedev is a historian, writer, journalist, and Professor at Charles University. In the past 30 years, he has held research positions and professorships in Germany, Italy, and Finland and was a Professor and Associate Dean at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow (2004-20). He left Russia in March 2022. Dr Medvedev’s latest books include The Return of the Russian Leviathan (2020, translated into 12 languages), A War Made in Russia (2023) and Biopower in Putin’s Russia (2024). He studied at Moscow University and Columbia University (New York City) and received a PhD in history.
