Sergey Utkin

Associate Professor for International Politics at the Department of Political Science and Public Management at the University of Southern Denmark

Dr Sergey Utkin has been as associate professor for international politics at the Department of Political Science and Public Management (Center for War Studies) at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense since the summer of 2022. In 2016-22, he headed Strategic Assessment Section at the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) at the Russian Academy of Sciences. From 2016 to June 2018, Dr Utkin also headed foreign and security policy department at the Moscow-based Centre for Strategic Research. In 2012-16, he worked at the Centre for Situation Analysis at the Russian Academy of Sciences (now merged with IMEMO). In 2006-13, Dr Utkin worked at IMEMO, where his last position was the head of Section for Political Aspects of European Integration. He holds a PhD in political science (international relations), which he received at IMEMO in 2006.
