Sven Mikser
Member of the European Parliament
Sven Mikser is a Member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament (Estonia - Sotsiaaldemokraatlik Erakond), where he also sits in the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Security and Defence. Previously, Sven Mikser was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia. He has been a member of the Social Democratic Party since 2005. In 2015–16, MEP Mikser was a member of the 13th Riigikogu and served as the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He was a member of the Riigikogu Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. In 2014–15, MEP Mikser was the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Estonia. From 2003–14, he belonged to the Estonian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. From 2008–10, he served as the Vice President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
