MP, Chair of the UK House of Commons Defence Select Committee
MP Tobias Ellwood is the Chair of the House of Commons Defence Select Committee, having served as chairman since his election in 2020. He was elected Member of Parliament for Bournemouth East in May 2005. Since then, he has held a range of positions including the Prime Minister’s Parliamentary Advisor on the NATO Summit 2014, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with responsibility for the Middle East and North Africa, Parliamentary Under Secretary for Africa and Parliamentary Under Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. Tobias spent five years in the British Army with the Royal Green Jackets and served in Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Kuwait, Germany, Gibraltar, and Bosnia.
