Ukraine’s Recovery: Setting the Scene

May 15, 13:30-14:30

The war rages on, but reconstruction has already begun. How do we get this right? The decisions we make today will shape Ukraine for a generation. As the defence-industrial complex is being built in real time, hundreds of billions of dollars are still needed to repair cities and villages—for millions of displaced people to find a new home. But Ukraine will not manage alone. The western coalition is both indispensable and uncertain of its own staying power. Can we do it? Can the west sustain the political will to fund reconstruction at the scale required?
