Jüri Luik

Permanent Representative of Estonia to NATO

Ambassador Jüri Luik has served as the Minister of Defense of Estonia several times. He has also served as the country’s Foreign Minister, as well as Ambassador to Moscow, NATO and Washington and as the director of the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) in Tallinn. Ambassador Luik is a valued expert on defence and security policy and one of the key architects of Estonia’s NATO policy. As a minister without portfolio, he led the talks with Russia on the withdrawal of Russian forces from Estonia. Ambassador Luik has now been appointed the Permanent Representative of Estonia to NATO.
