Katsiaryna Shmatsina

Research Fellow, Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies

Katsiaryna Shmatsina is a research fellow at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies where she focuses on Belarusian foreign policy and regional security. Her portfolio includes consulting on the Belarusian democratic forces, non-residential fellowship at the German Marshall Fund (2020) and Think Visegrad Fellowship (2019). Previously, she worked for the American Bar Association (Washington, DC) where she managed the democratic-governance and rule-of-law projects. Katsiaryna Shmatsina has delivered several guest lectures at the European University Viadrina (Frankfurt/Oder), Georgetown University, and her alma mater, Syracuse University (New York).
