Christo Grozev

Christo Grozev is an award-winning investigative journalist and executive director of the open-source investigative platform Bellingcat. In his investigations, Grozev focuses on security threats, extraterritorial clandestine operations, and the weaponisation of information. His investigations into the identity of the suspects in the 2018 Novichok poisonings in the UK earned him and his team the European Prize for Investigative Journalism. He has authored, among other works, investigation projects into the 2016 Montenegro failed coup, the 2015 shelling of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, and the identification of key suspects in the downing of MH17. He also led the investigations into the murder of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili in Berlin and the nerve-agent poisonings of Alexei Navalny and other Russian political activists. Grozev has degrees in journalism and law and economics.
