Dr Ulrich Speck is a German foreign policy analyst based in Berlin and Heidelberg. His work focuses on German foreign policy, the EU, transatlantic relations, and global order. He edits an analytical newsletter on German foreign policy in German (Morgenlage Außenpolitik) and is a senior visiting fellow at the German Marshall Fund in Berlin. Previously Dr Speck has worked for Radio Free Europe in Prague and Brussels, for Carnegie Europe in Brussels and for the Transatlantic Academy (GMF) in Washington DC. He was also an associate fellow at the Spanish think tank Elcano Royal Institute and the editor of the Global Europe Morning Brief, a subscriber-only newsletter on EU foreign policy. Dr Speck’s articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Guardian, Moscow Times, on CNN.com, The American Interest, Berlin Policy Journal, FAZ, SZ, Tagesspiegel, etc.
